He was born on August 4, 1937 in Belgrade and he passed away
on September 28, 1995 in Belgrade One of the completely authentic,
personal people and yet "a property" of all those that take
basketball to the heart, was Slobodan Piva Ivković From
the first contact with the basketball until his early death
Piva was in the service of progress, basketball development.
Wherever he was, whatever he did, Piva never had titles, trophies,
medals. in the first plan. He was interested in something
else, something that one reaches hard, something that one
cannot wait to experience in three lives. Simply, Piva was
interested in perfection! It was the perfection of game, ideas,
players basketball perfection. Piva managed to experience
several times this perfection. The first time was in the second
half of the 60s, when he wasnt even 30. He sat on a bench
of then strong OKK Belgrade and continued with the line of
winning trophies. If then club management had had more understanding,
perhaps even the "klonferi" would have been the first YU club
to reach the finals of the Champion Cup. The second time he
experienced perfection when he made out of immature boys from
the Krst a champion team, that made whole Europe shake. This
was not because of the fact that they became the champions
of Yugoslavia, the winners of the YU Cup and half-finalists
of the Champion Cup and finalists of the Cup of Champion Cups,
but because of the recognizable game. He coached the teams
of Radnički, OKK Belgrade, MZT Skoplje, worked in Kuwait
and Emirates. When he was 32 he had already achieved the most
success of his career. He was also active in the representation,
and few people know that he used to coach one of the best
Yugoslav generations, then juniors: Slavnić, Simonović
Šolman, Jelovac
Besides the fact that he was always ahead of his time, he
knew all the principles of the game of top basketball colleagues,
no matter the geographic width and longitude. His favourite
was John Wooden, coaching legend and "head coach" of the UCLA.
He transmitted great authority, knowledge to younger colleagues,
always searching for novelties and he was one of the first
Yugoslav coaches that went to the for schooling.
Coaching legend of Radnički from Crveni Krst, Slobodan
Ivković, invested the energy and rich experience gathered
all over the world, into the establishment of the Association
of the Basketball Coaches of Yugoslavia with the sign of Basketball
Union of Yugoslavia. Animation of colleagues, pointing that
the importance of establishment of the top union was crucial
for the skill authority, in the country and abroad, gave results.
At Igman in 1991 he gathered the maximum number of coaches
and the decision was made to create the Association of Basketball
Coaches of Yugoslavia within Basketball Union of Yugoslavia
with the seat in Belgrade. He was the first president of the
ABCY, he organized seminars and coaching academies of the
highest rank.
For many he will remain unreachable.

Our site presentation is one more attempt to
make the Serbian Association of Basketball Coaches in this
way even more available not only to the members, but to everyone
that likes basketball and respects results that we have achieved.
At the same time we keep in touch with everyone that visits our
site and we remain open for cooperation as respectable members of
the world basketball family. We, the coaches, according to some
people- modestly, consider ourselves, after the players, the most
important constituent in making top results that our basketball
has acquired. Only with constant innovation and perfection of our
work, and impovement even of the Association we will preserve the
high place in the world basketball. Thus, welcome to the web-site

The Association of the basketball coaches of
Yugoslavia, with approximately 1000 members, certainly is among
the most numerous in Europe, and according to the number of quality
top coaches and the programme of its activities and results, it
surely serves as a model.
legendary coach Slobodan Piva Ivković is the creator of establishing
such a modern coach organization, that was put into the function
of the overall development of basketball game. With the group of
enthusiasts and respectable coaches such as Ranko Žeravica, Slobodan
Ćela Mićović, Dragoljub Pljakić and other, he
realized his vision with the creation of the Association of basketball
coaches of Serbia - in 1972. Piva became its first president. The
secretaries of the Association were: Đorđe Najšteter (89-91),
Minić Milan - Slovenac (91-92), Nikola Jovanović (92-93),
Aco Petrović (92-93). Then, besides other issues, they began
with planned, quality and organized education of our basketball
coaches. Collecting and publishing of the expert literature, quality
seminars and similar stuff became a constituent part of the activities
of each coach. For those one that were proven or were promising,
a stay in the USA was organized, what later turned out to be the
capital step of the Association. Among those that visited the USA
were: Božidar Maljković, Slobodan Koprivica, Dušan Ivković,
Željko Gagić, Luka Stančić and Predrag Kuzmanović.
At one of the coach seminars, in 1991 on Igman the Association of
the basketball coaches of Yugoslavia was established, as a unique
association of basketball coaches whose first president was Piva
until 1996. In the meantime the Association acquired great reputation
also outside the borders of Yugoslavia, and this was achieved due
to the contribution of its members that became the most appreciated
experts in Europe, crowned with numerous titles and medals.
Since 1996 the president of the Association of basketball coaches
of Yugoslavia is Dušan Ivković, and since 2002 he is also the
president of the World Association of basketball coaches, what was
the recognition to this respectable expert of the highest format
and also the Assocation he was heading. Then a decision was made
to publish the magazine "Trener" ("Coach") (head
and responsible editor was Mirko Polovina), what meant a new quality
in the coach education and affirmation of the ABCY results. The
secretaries, as in the previous period, were again the coaches:
Mile Protić (1996-99), Vlado Bošnjak (1999-2000) and since
then Mirko Ocokoljić. With the modernization of the Statute,
and adoption of the Codex and Book on rules on licenses, the Association
completed its normative acts according to which it has been functioning.
The unique contract between the club and the coach that was adopted
by the Presidency of the ABCY, where it is deposited, gave a necessary
security to the coaches that are protected not only by the ABCY
but also by the Basketball organization of Yugoslavia.

The Serbia and Montenegro Association
of Basketball Coaches
currently consists of 918 members. Out of them, according to the
Book of Rules on License, in this competition season the right to
possess the coaching license have 562 coaches out of which 170 possess
the red license and 392 blue license. All coaches that do not possess
the title of a coach are directed to the Basketball Academy where
they can acquire the title of the operative basketball coach or
senior basketball coach |

SA LICENCOM NA UTAKMICE |

Udruzenje kosarkaskih trenera Srbije poslalo je predlog svim prvoligaskim klubovima (ukljucujuci i timove iz Jadranske lige) predlog da se clanovima UKTS koji poseduju trenersku licencu omoguci besplatan ulaz na utakmice. Ovim povodom vec smo dobili potvrde od KK Borac iz Cacka, KK Crvena Zvezda i KK Hemofarm iz Vrsca da se omogucava trenerima sa licencama ulaz na sve njihove utakmice. Sto se tice KK Hemofarm i hale Milenijum, treneri sa licencama mogu koristiti VIP ulaz, a za utakmice KK Crvena Zvezde u kancelariji UKTS dan uoci utakmice delice se odredjeni broj ulaznica za B parter (ulaz B, sa velikog parkinga).
Molimo sve trenere koji poseduju licence da ih nikako ne zloupotrebljavaju za ulaske na utakmice. |

U nedelju 21. septembra, odrzace se treci po redu memorijalni turnir u cast legendarnog trenera Borislava Rebe Corkovica, u hali Pionir u organizaciji kosarkaskog kluba Partizan. Usesnici turnira bise juniorske ekipe Vizure, Crvene Zvezde, Radniskog i Partizana. Finalna utakmica planirana je za 18:00 casova. |

Dragisa Saric, nas kolega i clan strucnog staba K.K. Partizan, koji je iznenada preminuo 19.07.2008. godine bice sahranjen na beogradskom groblju Lesce u petak 25.07.2008. godine u 13,30 casova. Komemorativni skup biće odrzan istog dana u 10,30 casova u klubu sportista na stadionu Partizana. |

IN MEMORIAM - DRAGISA SARIC |

Iz Pule je danas stigla tuzna vest. Iznenada je preminuo nas prijatelj i kolega Dragisa Saric (47), u protekloj sezoni asistent u strucnom stabu KK Partizan.
Svoju igracku karijeru poceo je u KK Usce, a potom je igrao za Radnicki , Vojvodinu i Partizan, sa kojim je bio sampion Evrope 1992. godine. Iz Partizana je presao u Profi Kolor iz Panceva nakon koga je nastavio igracku karijeru u Beobanci. I posle oprostaja od aktivnog bavljenja kosarkom ostao je u svetu sporta. Bio je glavni strateg Vizure i Mega Akva Monte.
Tih, vredan i odan kosarci i uzoran clan Udruzenja kosarkaskih trenera Srbije. Veorvali smo da ce kao trener prevazici svoj sjajan igracki uspeh. Mnogo ce nam nedostajati i kao prijatelj i kao kolega. |
